Pipeline Construction Safety Training  is designed for people that work on pipeline job sites and want a greater understanding of the health and safety factors surrounding this industry.

The Pipeline Construction Safety Training course has been designed to assist the pipeline worker in the process of responding to worksite health and safety issues. The seminar takes the worker through the entire pipeline construction process to gain a better understanding of the construction phases.

Objectives:

By instructing the pipeline worker through the process of construction from beginning to end, the employee gets a better perspective on the hazards and challenges of the job. It will focus on the tools necessary to recognize and assess jobsite hazards, such as vehicle safety and equipment handling.  Responding to emergencies and other controls will educate both the supervisors, management, employees and contractors on industry challenges.  Experts across Canada were consulted to provide this 13 module training program on Canadian pipeline construction.

The following content will assist workers in understanding the rights and responsibilities
of workers and employers in pipeline jobs:

Recognize, assess, and control
hazards on the pipeline worksite.

Identify the significant hazards associated with
drilling and excavating.

Understand hazards and learn communication skills associated with drilling and
hoisting equipment.

Identify safe work practices associated with pipe,
such as the preparation, bending, assembly,
coating, and inspection of the materials.

Learn traffic control protocols,
safety in confined spaces and at heights, and
how to use of engineering controls such as lock-out and tagging devices.

Consider the hazards associated with noise, air
quality, the environment, and electricity.

Learn  safe operation of
construction vehicles and heavy equipment.

Understand WHMIS , SDS and learn how to use
personal protective equipment (ppe).

Respond to  emergency response plans, first aid
resources, and incident reporting procedures.

Testing protocol:  Providing this seminar online affords a  convenient method to learn these essential steps without having to go to a classroom.  When 100% is achieved on the quizzes, a certificate card and plaque can be printed out.

Certified through :Construction Sector Council.  This Buildforce Canada program can be used towards the Gold Seal for  credits.
