HEAT STRESS AWARENESS COURSE OVERVIEW
Heat stroke is a serious side effect of heat stress and attributes to at least 300 deaths per year. If you are exposed to heat in your work environment—for example, if you work outside—the risk of heat stress illness and injury needs serious attention. This online Heat Stress Awareness course will help increase your understanding of the causes and impact of heat stress and will help you identify strategies and equipment to help prevent injury.
Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Identify heat stress hazards that can exist on the job
- Identify the nature, symptoms, and treatment of heat stress
- Recognize the precautions for protecting against heat stress
This course was designed to help satisfy requirements of the National Safety Council publication, First Aid and CPR.

HEAT STRESS AWARENESS COURSE ASSESSMENT:
Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Users are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
